Cancellation Policies
OFFSHORE TRIPS
50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due at booking to hold a place on board, with the balance due 30 days prior to departure (credit card will be automatically billed). If client provides written notice of cancellation more than 30 days prior to departure, client will not be billed for the final 50% balance. If, after client has paid the balance and still decides to cancel for whatever reason, and Shearwater Sailing, LLC is able to re-book the berth, client will receive a full refund, minus an administration fee. Otherwise, if Shearwater Sailing, LLC cannot rebook the passage, client understands that within 30 days of departure, no refund or credit can be made for any reason including illness. Client understands that there are no exceptions to this policy. Client understands the importance of obtaining trip cancellation insurance, which is each client’s own responsibility to obtain. We recommend DAN Boater Travel Insurance. By checking 'agree' below, client agrees to all of the above.
If Shearwater Sailing, LLC cancels a trip for circumstances beyond our control, such as weather or other conditions, client will be issued a 100% credit for a future trip. If a trip is cancelled due to weather, we will do our best to reschedule as soon as possible, with clients from the cancelled trip receiving priority.
Under no circumstance will Shearwater Sailing, LLC be liable for travel or any other expenses resulting from any cancelled event.
LOCAL TRIPS
For trips of 1 day or less, 50% deposit due at booking to hold the date and time, with the balance due upon completion of charter. Deposits refunded in full if client cancels within 1 week of scheduled departure. If client cancels less than 1 week prior, deposit is forfeited. If Shearwater Sailing, LLC cancels at any time for any reason, such as weather or other conditions, clients will have the option to be rebooked or refunded in full.
